Is Bhutan open to tourists now?

Bhutan is yet to open now. Bhutan covid lockdown started on 6th March 2020 which lasts till now. At the moment, no definite plan for tourism reopening has been announced. Currently, there are no covid deaths in Bhutan. Bhutan covid cases today is only 636 where the majority of the infected people are also already recovered. Bhutan is following zero-death-policy as ordered by His Majestic the King of Bhutan. The king himself is in the frontline inspiring people. Tourism restrictions in transit countries are also another factor blocking travelers for Bhutan.

When will Bhutan open for tourists?
Although Bhutan is highly affected by covid 19 in Bhutan today, up till further notice is Bhutan is closed. Also, travelers are on hold by the restrictions imposed by the countries to enter Bhutan. It’s not possible to say when Bhutan open to tourists looking at current situations. Especially Bhutan is also affected by covid cases in India daily which is nearby. Even though Bhutan is following a strict zero-death policy from COVID-19, Bhutan might reopen for the new tourism year of 2021.
