Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival Paro (2250m) – Thimphu (2350m)
Arrive Paro by flight flying over some of the highest mountains in the world and into the lush green Paro Valley. As your step down from the plane, cool and fresh air immediately greets you. After clearing the custom and immigration formalities meet your representatives and guide outside the airport. Drive to Paro for lunch and also visit Paro Rinpung Dzong. Afterward, drive to Thimphu (1 hr drive) and begin sightseeing visiting sites like Buddha’s point, Take a view of the majestic Tashichoe Dzong, the seat of the government before circumventing the Memorial Chorten – a monument erected in memory of Bhutan’s third king H.M. Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Visit Centenary Farmers Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, National Institute of Traditional Medicine that still dispenses traditional herbal medicines to the locals, the Folk Heritage Museum – a 300 year old traditional house converted into a museum. Day 02: Thimphu – Punakha (1310m)
After breakfast, drive to Punakha en-route passing over Dochula pass (3050m). The pass is a popular viewpoint to witness good views of the eastern mountains on a clear day. Then drive to Punakha where getting closer to Punakha, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang ‘the fertility temple’ dedicated Drukpa Kunley. After the hike, soon the beautiful valley of Punakha is reached. Overnight at Luxury Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 03: Punakha (1310m) – Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) (2320m)
Today drive to Gangtey where from Wangdue the road climbs up over oak and rhododendron forest, then to the Phobjikha Valley, one of the beautiful valleys in Bhutan. It’s one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan and also the chosen home for the black-necked cranes which flew from Tibet during the winter season. One can also enjoy 1 & half hour Gangtey nature trail hike starting from Gangtey monastery through the forest and into the valley floor. Overnight at Luxury Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 04: Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) – Paro (2250m)
After breakfast, drive back to Punakha to visit a stunning hill-top nunnery – Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Chholing. Have a chat with the nuns and enjoy the charm of the surroundings! The main temple is dedicated to the bodhisattva of compassion (Avaloketeshvara) and next to the temple is a beautiful Stupa and there are slate carvings of religious figures. Re-crossing Dochula and drive towards Thimphu upon arrival check-in hotel. Overnight at Luxury Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 05: Paro – Hike to Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ (3120m)
Drive to the base of the monastery and start the hike where about two hours of walk will reach the cafeteria. From here, get a good view of the monastery, rest a while and continue the hike up to reach the monastery. It’s believed Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century here and meditated. Explore around the monastery and hike downwards to the road-head. Drive to Paro en-route visiting Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Overnight at Luxury Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 06: Paro depart
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch the onward flight. Bid farewell to the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappearing again behind its guardian mountains. (Breakfast only included)
