Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Paro (2250m) – Thimphu (2350m)
Arrive Paro by flight and land at Paro International Airport where cool and fresh air immediately greets you as you step down from the plane. Flight in/out Paro is flying past some of the world’s tallest mountains. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, meet your representative and guide outside the airport. Drive to Paro for lunch and also visit Paro Rinpung Dzong. Then drive to Thimphu (1 hr drive). Upon arrival Thimphu sightseeing begins with visits to Buddha’s point, Takin’ preserve as well as Tashichoe Dzong, the seat of the government before circumventing the Memorial Chorten – a monument erected in memory of Bhutan’s third king H.M. Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Visit Centenary Farmers Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, National Institute of Traditional Medicine that still dispenses traditional herbal medicines to the locals, the Folk Heritage Museum – a 300 year old traditional house converted into a museum. Day 02: Thimphu – Day tour to Punakha (1,310m) – Thimphu (2350m)
After breakfast drive to Punakha. En-route cross over Dochula pass (3050m) from where one gets superb views of the eastern mountains on a clear day. Getting closer, you will come across Chimi Lhakhang ‘the fertility temple’ dedicated to Drukpa Kunley. The temple is amid rice fields where a short hike from the road is required. Then further drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong arguably one of the most beautiful monasteries in Bhutan. The day excursion finishes and traces the same route back to Thimphu again crossing Dochula. Upon reaching Thimphu, check-in hotel or explore around the city if you wish. Day 03: Thimphu – Paro & Hike to Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ (3120m)
In the morning after breakfast, drive to Paro. Upon reaching Paro further drive to the base of the monastery and start the hike. About two hours of the walk will reach the cafeteria. From here, get an exclusive view of the monastery. Continue hike upwards to reach the monastery and explore around. It’s believed Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century here and meditated. Then hike downwards to road-head and drive to Paro. En-route visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Overnight at Luxury Hotel (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 04: Paro – Depart
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch the onward flight. Bid farewell to the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappearing again behind its guardian mountains. (Breakfast only included))
