The only international airport in Bhutan is at Paro. Currently, two airlines operate flights to Paro, namely Druk Air (government) and Bhutan Airlines (private). Cities associated with Paro through air routes are Singapore, Bangkok, Delhi, Guwahati, Bagdogra (India), Kathmandu (Nepal), and Dhaka (Bangladesh). Air route being the most comfortable means of transportation, is the most chosen one too.
From Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok (Thailand)
Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok has daily flights from both Druk Air and Royal Bhutan Airlines. However, there is always a high possibility for flights delay due to bad weather as Paro Airport is one of the most dangerous airports in the world.
Bangkok to Paro: Visitors have to arrive at Bangkok an evening before as the flight leave for Paro in the morning from 5:30 to 7:30 am and you need to check-in 2 hours before departure.
Paro to Bangkok: The flight from Paro to Bangkok leaves at 11 am and drops you at Bangkok on 4:50 pm (as per the local time). You can be directly connected to another flight. You need to inform the Druk Air staff so that your luggage can be transferred to your second flight automatically.
Bangkok is the easiest way to reach Bhutan due to the wide range of international flight connections it possess.
From Singapore Changi Airport (Singapore)
Travelers have an additional option to visit Bhutan through Singapore Changi Airport on Sundays and Thursdays i.e. twice a week. For travelers from Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, or any other countries having a good connection to Singapore, this means saving at least 13 hours. (transit in Bangkok)
From Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi (India)
Both Druk Air and Royal Bhutan Air have flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport. It usually takes 2 hours to reach Paro from Delhi directly as the aerial distance is 1214 km. It also travels to Kathmandu as a transit, which can take a bit longer.
From Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (Nepal)
The first flight to Bhutan from Tribhuvan International Airport is of Druk Air departing at 8:45 am. The total aerial distance between Kathmandu to Paro is 400 km which takes an hour. Bhutan Air has flights in 4 days a week mostly departing at 3 pm while Druk air has flights in 3 days a week departing as different times.

• We’ll send you an e-visa after getting the clearance letter. The visa must be printed and carried along your journey to Bhutan.
