Overview of Druk Path Trek

The Druk Path Trek ranks among Bhutan’s most rewarding trekking routes, pairing dramatic Himalayan scenery with the country’s deep Buddhist heritage. The trail runs between the valleys of Paro and Thimphu, carrying you through old-growth forest, high mountain passes, clear alpine lakes, and centuries-old monasteries.

As one of Bhutan’s most popular routes, it delivers natural beauty, cultural depth, and moderate adventure in equal measure. Our 10-day Druk Path Trek itinerary combines sightseeing in Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha with five days of camping through Bhutan’s high country.

The trek is moderately difficult, making it suitable for physically fit beginners, first-time Himalayan trekkers, nature lovers, and photographers. The route tops out around 4,110–4,235 meters, high enough for real mountain views but without the technical demands of high-altitude climbing.

Along the way, you’ll hike to the world-famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, camp beside the alpine lakes of Jimilang Tsho and Simkotra Tsho, cross ridgelines with views of Mount Jomolhari and the eastern Himalayas, and visit Jele Dzong and Phajoding Monastery.

The trip also builds in cultural sightseeing in Thimphu and a full day in the historic Punakha Valley, home to the striking Punakha Dzong and the surrounding countryside.

At Tour in Bhutan, we build seamless, memorable trekking holidays. Our licensed guides, trained trekking crew, solid camping gear, comfortable accommodation, genuine Bhutanese hospitality, and carefully built itineraries keep the trip safe, enjoyable, and hassle-free from the moment you land to the moment you fly home.

Whether you’re visiting Bhutan for the first time or coming back for more of the Himalayas, this trek pairs adventure, culture, and comfort in one package.
